Rain in the tropics

It rained a lot when we were in Krabi - even though it was supposed to be the 'dry season'. I didn't think about it at the time, but the majority of worthwhile things to do and see in Krabi are outdoors- so it's a good idea to factor in an extra day or do for inclement weather. We got pretty used to getting caught up in tropical showers travelling between Ao Nang beach and Railay beach on long tail boats (tip #2- wear swimmers underneath clothing any time you're outside).

Although the rain can sometimes spoil your plans, I still enjoyed seeing how the rain transforms the idyllic landscape of Krabi. Some of my favourite photographs were taken sitting at a bar in Railay beach waiting for a break in the downpour.
