NGA Sculpture Garden Marquee Wedding

Polly and Sander

National Gallery Australia Sculpture Garden Wedding Canberra Jenny Wu Photography

Like many couples in 2020, Polly and Sander threw away the rule book and got hitched their own way. They had their stylish wedding reception at the National Gallery of Australia Sculpture Garden Marquee with an intimate group of their closest friends and family- and then a week later, they flew to Melbourne and had their registry ‘ceremony’- then left Australia a week after that to start their new lives in China. Never a dull moment with those two!

Imagine exchanging vows in the heart of an art lover’s paradise, surrounded by world-class sculptures and the serene beauty of nature. The NGA Sculpture Garden and Marquee in Canberra offers an exquisite blend of art and elegance, making it a perfect choice for your wedding celebration.

For your ceremony venue, you have several enchanting options within the sculpture garden. Picture saying "I do" amidst stunning sculptures in the lush Fern Garden, where the tranquil atmosphere and dappled sunlight create a dreamy setting. Alternatively, the Nymphaea Lily Pond offers a serene and intimate space with its reflective waters and surrounding greenery, perfect for small weddings. For those who desire a more contemporary backdrop, the area near Antony Gormley's "Angel of the North" sculpture provides a striking and memorable setting.

When it comes to the reception venue, the marquee at the NGA Sculpture Garden offers a blend of sophistication and charm. This flexible space can be tailored to your vision, whether you envision a formal seated dinner or a relaxed cocktail-style celebration. The marquee's open sides allow guests to enjoy the garden views, blending the indoor and outdoor experience seamlessly.

Choosing the NGA Sculpture Garden and Marquee as your Canberra wedding venue means you’ll be celebrating in a place that’s not only beautiful but also rich in culture and art.
