10 Stylish Wedding Venues in Canberra
In the planning stage of your wedding and looking for some Canberra Wedding Venues that have a bit of style and character? Keep reading for a rundown of venue options for your outdoor wedding, small wedding, or weddings with a larger guest list.
Gold Creek Station Wedding
Nina and Gareth's Gold Creek Station wedding really showcased their creativity and love of all things bespoke. A standout feature of their wedding was the array of homegrown flowers they used for the reception and bouquet. Not often you see a reception styled with wedding flowers from the couple’s garden!
Grazing Gundaroo Wedding
Zac and Tara’s wedding day at Grazing Gundaroo was bursting with energy, love, and laughter, and ended with some pretty impressive dance moves from wedding party and guests. This is how I saw the day unfold…
Senate Rose Gardens / Evie and Rob Small Wedding
At the start of a beautiful Canberra Autumn, Rob and Evie tied the knot at the gorgeous rose gardens at the grounds of Old Parliament House, surrounded by a close knit group of family and friends. They had a beautifully intimate reception at Lamsheds restaurant in Yarralumla (by the way, that place is just incredible, I booked a table for date night the next week before I left!)

National Portrait Gallery Wedding / Grace & Tim
Tim and Grace had a cracker of a wedding at the end of 2020 surrounded by lots of family and friends (thankfully at that stage restrictions were fairly minimal in Canberra).
One of the highlights for me was rendition of “My Heart Will Go On’ (Titanic) by Tim and his best man on some sort of home made flute; the atmosphere set by the swaying lights held up by the guests (via their phones- candles were too much of a fire hazard I suspect).
Je Fleur Florist Shop Launch Photoshoot
I absolutely loved spending some time in the beautiful new space at Je Fleur, photographing the store, some of their gorgeous creations, and headshots for the team.
Je Fleur Florist bring European style floristry to Canberra, they do bespoke bouquets, wedding styling, and cute gifts like candles with plantable seeds inspired by the scents. They’re right next to Intra and Mrs Fray in Campbell - such a great little spot to spend a morning.

Hayley and Tom // Parlour Room Nishi Wedding
Hayley and Tom, like many of the couples during this interesting year, had to rethink their wedding plans after COVID lockdown measures were announced. They went from a big Hunter Valley wedding to a more smaller wedding closer to home. After months of uncertainty, the situation improved in Canberra, and everything just fell into place perfect for their wedding day. They said that they actually preferred the intimacy of a smaller wedding.

Wiluna Bride // Wedding Day Inspiration
I was part of a collaboration between some incredible Canberran wedding vendors for a shoot to feature in Hooray magazine. The concept was to bring to life the free spirited bohemian bride that embodied the Wiluna Studio aesthetic, with wedding day styling inspiration shot in the Wiluna studio space, and the ‘day after’ story shot in the Naked Cubby ( see the next blog post for the images!). Earthy toned fresh and dried florals feature in the ceremony and reception styling, as well as a gorgeous bouquet and floral hat!
The talented (mostly) Canberra based vendors that formed this team included : Larissa from Wiluna Studio, Kate Anderson from Kate Lily Dressing Hair, Jessica Peris from The Beautique by Jessica Peris, Brow Lab, The Paper Botanist, Mrs Fray, The Naked Cubby, and our real life couple Linlin and Ben. Chloe & Dylan- Lincoln's Rock Blue Mountains Elopement
When Chloe and Dylan contacted me saying that they wanted to make the trip out to Lincoln’s Rock for their elopement, I was over the moon! This clifftop location near Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains is one of the most beautiful places I have photographed in.
Their elopement was so incredibly beautiful. They were joined by their Mums, their celebrant Charmaine, and a handful of random bystanders - who seemed genuinely touched by the ceremony.
After the ceremony, we braved the cold and wind and explored the gorgeous scenery surrounding Lincoln’s Rock and the sun went down. Here are some images from the day….
Kirrily & Jesse- Blue Mountains Sunset Shoot
Kirrily and Jesse are the sweetest pair. I first met Kirrily through the creative community in Canberra- she is a talented model and actress (check her out on instagram- @kirrilynoble) and we had worked together on an editorial. I spent an incredible afternoon wandering around Lincoln's Rock in the Blue Mountains with Kirrily and her husband Jesse earlier in the year.
Oumaya and Jonathan's Intimate Burbury Wedding
We had a run of wild weather in November and early December this year. On the Friday of Oumaya's and Jonathan's wedding, it absolutely bucketed down- we ended up getting rained out of our option A (A pergola at the Old Parliament House Rose Gardens), and also our option B (a small undercover area nearby), and had to come up with an option C real fast.
Luckily, our couple were quick-thinking and creative. We moved the wedding to their Burbury hotel room, and had the intimate ceremony with their 22 guests on their balcony. The girls laid out a flower petal aisle leading from the bedroom to the balcony, and Oumaya's beaming father walked her down to meet Jonathan on the balcony. It was one of sweetest, most touching ceremonies I've seen.
Sandra & Daniel: Fitters' Workshop Wedding Canberra
Sandra and Daniel got married at St Gregory's Church in Queanbeyan and then had their reception at The Fitters' Workshop in Kingston. I felt honoured to spend the day with them and their closest friends from the start of the day while they were getting ready, to the beautiful ceremony, exploring forests in Piallago with the bridal party, and then joining in the celebrations at the Fitters' Workshop.
Sarah and Kaya's National Gallery of Australia wedding
Sarah and Kaya had their beautiful wedding at the National Gallery of Australia, surrounded by 200 or so adoring family and friends. This is how I saw the day unfold...
