Nikoletta and Fabian // Daylesford Wedding
Nikoletta and Fabian got married in Daylesford- a gorgeous town in country Victoria, an hour and a half out of Melbourne. The wedding was held at The Convent Galleries- their ceremony in the beautiful old Convent chapel. It was an emotion filled day, and I feel grateful to have been part of it.
Venue : The Convent Gallery Daylesford
Dress: Grace Loves Lace
Makeup : Studio 2 Makeup and Hair
Florals : Flowers in a Vase
Styled Shoot: Laurel & Lace / Mrs Fray / Jenny Wu
At the end of last year, Lauren from Laurel and Lace dreamt up a concept of a bridal styled shoot that was all about creamy florals with a romantic colour palette, movement of sheer fabrics, old world meets modern bohemian. We teamed up with some of Canberra’s incredible wedding vendors (full credits and wardrobe details at the bottom of the post) and shot this in the Mrs Fray beautiful studio space the day before Christmas Eve.
The ladies at Mrs Fray have a way with words, so I’ll treat you with their description of this shoot:
“A soft playful take to inspire your wedding day mornings.
Floaty tulle, as light as air. Lustrous chocolate velours, sensuous silk slips and lounge about robes. An abundance of English rose garden blooms inspired by works of the Dutch Golden Age. Old fashioned romance.”
Full credits and wardrobe details at the bottom of the post.
Poacher's Pantry Wedding // Georgia & Matt
Georgia and Matt’s wedding at Poachers Pantry was beautiful in so many ways.
There was so much love and tears and laughter that day. Tears mainly from Georgia, who apparently cries even at happy movies. Laughter from everyone, including myself, because their friends are families are hilarious. So many sweet moments too- during their ceremony speech they surprised their grandparents by congratulating them on their wedding anniversary that day and said they look forward to celebrating their anniversaries together.
This was one of the last couple of weddings I shot before everything changed with the escalation of COVID 19 in Australia and subsequent lockdown. I feel so grateful to have been given the opportunity to spend the day with them.

Cork Forest Arboretum Wedding // Tara and David
Tara and David met a church a few years back. David told me the story of how he noticed that Tara was well equipped with a good range of tools in the back of her car when she gave him a lift, and from then he knew she was right for him.
The whole day was beautiful. David and his furry groomsman Norman waited patiently in a spot at the Cork Forest for Tara to meet them for their First Look- I’m not sure who was more excited- Norman or David!
The rest of the day looked like this …
Wiluna Bride // The Morning After
The Wiluna Bride ‘morning after’ story was shot in the Naked Cubby, situated within Mt Majura Vineyard. Earthy toned fresh and dried florals compliment the Australian landscape. See part 1 of this styled shoot for for the Wiluna Bride Wedding Day (ceremony and reception) story, set in Wiluna Studio and Concept Space.
Our real life couple Linlin and Ben were a pleasure to photograph- they weren’t actually models at all, just really relaxed and good at being themselves in front of my camera.
Wiluna Bride // Wedding Day Inspiration
I was part of a collaboration between some incredible Canberran wedding vendors for a shoot to feature in Hooray magazine. The concept was to bring to life the free spirited bohemian bride that embodied the Wiluna Studio aesthetic, with wedding day styling inspiration shot in the Wiluna studio space, and the ‘day after’ story shot in the Naked Cubby ( see the next blog post for the images!). Earthy toned fresh and dried florals feature in the ceremony and reception styling, as well as a gorgeous bouquet and floral hat!
The talented (mostly) Canberra based vendors that formed this team included : Larissa from Wiluna Studio, Kate Anderson from Kate Lily Dressing Hair, Jessica Peris from The Beautique by Jessica Peris, Brow Lab, The Paper Botanist, Mrs Fray, The Naked Cubby, and our real life couple Linlin and Ben. Eliza and Jozo // Poacher's Pantry Autumnal Wedding
Eliza and Jozo’s wedding was not only beautiful (Autumn at Poacher’s Pantry is just magic) but full of love. It was full of laughs too- with a fun bridal party, the world’s most hilarious father- daughter speech, and plenty of Rakia.
It was also very special to me, because it was the last wedding that I shot before the birth of my little man (2 weeks later!!), and Eliza was also a precious secret cargo.
This is how the day unfolded…
Sunrise Maternity Portraits at Bombo Quarry
At the end of last year I had the pleasure of shooting a maternity portrait session with Pim and her husband Matt at one of the most breathtaking locations I’ve ever been to. It was an early start for us to catch first light at Bombo Quarry ( I think I got up at 4:30 for a 5:15 arrival), but it was so worth it to photograph Pim and Matt in this surreal otherworldly seascape, with the most beautiful sunrise light.
It felt extra special to me being able to be document a little bit of Pim’s pregnancy because I was about 12 weeks pregnant at the time.
Muse Canberra- Yvonne and Joe's Intimate Bookstore Wedding
I’ve always thought there was something incredibly romantic about bookstores, and if I was a bride all over again I would probably get married in one. Muse was an awesome venue- it’s a beautiful space and also quite unique for a wedding venue. Their bonbonnieres were surprise books wrapped up for each guest-how cool! I thought that was a nice touch.
Yvonne and Joe’s intimate wedding at Muse Canberra was even more beautiful than I expected- they tied the knot surrounded by their closest friends, family, and their 3 daughters.
This is how I saw the evening unfold…
Chloe & Dylan- Lincoln's Rock Blue Mountains Elopement
When Chloe and Dylan contacted me saying that they wanted to make the trip out to Lincoln’s Rock for their elopement, I was over the moon! This clifftop location near Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains is one of the most beautiful places I have photographed in.
Their elopement was so incredibly beautiful. They were joined by their Mums, their celebrant Charmaine, and a handful of random bystanders - who seemed genuinely touched by the ceremony.
After the ceremony, we braved the cold and wind and explored the gorgeous scenery surrounding Lincoln’s Rock and the sun went down. Here are some images from the day….
Jasmine & Melville: Canberra Prewedding Shoot
or their pre-wedding shoot. They are from Singapore and came here for a family holiday plus destination pre wedding photos, what a great idea! The Australian landscape is very different from Singapore!
We started out having a stroll around the Old Parliament House, then drove to the Old Stromlo Observatory, and finally explored the National Arboretum - just in time for sunset.
Mountaintop portraits: Jeremy & Erin
Last weekend I photographed Jeremy and Erin at Booroombra Rocks- in Namadgi National Park. Can you believe that this is only an hour’s drive from Canberra’s city centre? This is one of the reasons I love living in Canberra.
We hiked up to the top - through a slippery snow covered trail, to catch that magical mountaintop golden hour, and what a treat it was!
Ailish & Simon: Mountaintop Engagement Session
We froze our asses off in the drizzle and wind on a Saturday afternoon during our engagement session, and I loved every minute of it. Simon and Ailish were such champions and even though the weather was looking pretty ominous towards the end of the photoshoot they wanted to soldier on and get to the top of Mount Painter for the killer view over Canberra.
I love photographing couples who are a little bit adventurous and happy to do a bit of hiking for their portraits!
Emma & Davey : Minimalist Urban Portrait Session
I get to hang out with a lot of cool couples, but these guys are on a whole other level. They're also super nice, and let me be a third wheel with them one afternoon a couple of weeks back.
Emma and I share a love of concrete and glass- so we wandered around the Portrait Gallery admiring it's walls (an example of Brutalist architecture Emma tells me) and finding nice light.
I also used a confetti cannon for the first time! If you ever feel like adulting is getting you down, buy yourself a confetti cannon. If you are worried about cleanup, Geelong fireworks stocks 'Envirofetti' as well, which dissolves upon contact with water.
